Why will IOT be successful in the coming years

The Internet of Things or IoT as we know it is an ecosystem of connected physical objects that are accessible through the internet. The objects can be anything like built-in sensors in a vehicle or digital machines, basically having the ability to collect and transfer data over a network without manual intervention. An internet connection is an awesome thing which provides all sorts of benefits that just weren’t possible before. In IoT, all the devices that are being connected to the internet can be classified into three categories:

Devices that collect information and then relay it

Devices that receive information and then take action

Devices that do both

Wouldn’t it be great if we had super devices that could collect data or information without human assistance and were able to track and view everything? This could reduce various costs, save time and loss. These machines would exactly know when, for eg., a specific structure is due for maintenance and repair or when are products past their fresh date in terms of the food industry.

It can also revolutionize the way companies work by improving performance through IoT analytics and IoT security to deliver better results. Various sectors stand to gain a lot by implementing IoT in their business strategy for making informed decisions, improve process efficiency, asset management, and productivity.

As an example, in an office set up, smart sensors can help the employee locate and schedule an available space for meeting and when the attendees enter it, set the temperature and lights according to the number of people in the room.

In today’s time, the digital world is no longer limited to smartphones or computers that can and has the ability to do a lot of tasks for the end-users.

And with technology getting more sophisticated and accessible each day, the possibilities are endless. In the next few years, we can see IoT transforming a lot of industries like:

Building smart home and structure

Revolutionizing healthcare sectors and gadgets

Exploring driverless technologies

Augmented reality or mixed reality

Immediate sharing of relevant information
