How India’s Largest Senior Living Operator Built a Unified Super App

About the client

Our client is India's first and largest operator of Continuing Care Retirement Communities, with properties spanning Bengaluru, Chennai, Coimbatore, Kanchipuram, and Puducherry - with an expanding footprint across Hyderabad, Kochi, Pune, and Mysore. The organization offers senior residents a lifestyle that spans independent living, assisted care, wellness, hospitality, real estate, and healthcare - all within thoughtfully designed community environments.

As the organization scaled through growth and acquisitions, it faced a defining challenge: the absence of a unified digital operating system that could serve both residents and the operations teams managing their daily care. The client engaged Pace Wisdom to build that system from the ground up.

Problem Statement

A multi-city senior living operator managing 10+ facilities had no unified digital platform. Service requests were tracked manually, operators lacked real-time visibility across communities, and residents had no reliable way to access services, health records, or emergency support. With growth through acquisitions adding more facilities to the portfolio, the operational fragmentation was compounding. The client needed a single platform that could serve both ends - a simple digital interface for senior residents and a centralized operations system for the teams managing their care.

Challenge

  • No Market Precedent: There was no established template for a senior living ERP or super-app in the Indian market. Pace Wisdom had to design the product category alongside the product itself - with no comparable solution to benchmark against.
  • Demographic-Led Technology Constraints: The end users - senior citizens - represented a demographic with lower digital literacy, varied accessibility needs, and low tolerance for friction. Every UX decision required a senior-first lens: large touch targets, simplified navigation, low cognitive load, and accessible language.
  • Multi-Facility Consolidation Post-Aquisition: The client had grown through acquisitions, resulting in siloed operations across 10+ facilities with inconsistent workflows, service definitions, and data structures. The platform had to normalize and unify these without disrupting day-to-day community operations.
  • 25+ Services Across Diverse Workflows: The platform needed to support a wide range of service categories - from medical record access and emergency calls to housekeeping tickets and finance statements - each with its own workflow logic, approval chains, and stakeholder roles.

Solution

Pace Wisdom designed and delivered a two-sided digital platform: a consumer-grade super-app for residents, and a robust operations management system for facility staff, managers, and administrators - both working in real time from the same data layer.

  • The Resident Super-App: Built a mobile and web-based application giving senior residents direct access to medical records, in-app calling, emergency alert services, maintenance and housekeeping ticket submission, health and wellness scheduling, and resident services - all from a single, senior-friendly interface.
  • Operator and Manager Data Dashboard: Developed a backend monitoring and management platform enabling facility operators, unit managers, and administrators to track service requests, resolve tickets, manage documentation, and gain real-time visibility across all resident interactions and open workflows.
  • Unified Multi-Facility Architecture: Engineered a scalable platform architecture that consolidates 10+ independently operating facilities into one system - with facility-level configuration, role-based access controls, and centralized reporting - while preserving the ability to operate each community independently.
  • Senior-First UX Design: Applied accessibility-first design principles throughout: high-contrast interfaces, large interactive elements, simplified user flows, and assisted navigation pathways - ensuring the platform served residents with varying levels of digital familiarity without compromising on feature depth.
